A splash of colour for World Mental Health Day
Broom Leys Primary School was full of colour and conversation as pupils and staff came together to mark World Mental Health Day with a splash of yellow and a focus on wellbeing.Across the school, from EYFS to Year 6, children took part in activities designed to promote positive mental health. Year 1 began their day with Cosmic Yoga, setting a calm and focused tone for the morning. EYFS pupils shared what makes them happy and talked about how to be kind friends, while Year 6 made friendship bracelets during Lunch Group.
Year 5’s Wellbeing ELSA Group held thoughtful discussions about what good mental health means to them, showing real insight and empathy. It was a joy to see pupils engaging so openly and supportively.
Adding a touch of humour to the day, Executive Principal Mr Prior and Year 5 teacher Miss Chiles were spotted wearing yellow cones on their heads — a moment that brought plenty of smiles.
World Mental Health Day at Broom Leys was a celebration of kindness, connection and self-care. We’re proud of how our pupils embraced the day and grateful to our staff for creating such a positive atmosphere.
